Just when you thought the season was over we have one more tailgate, social, polo fun day planned for Whitney Field this Sunday November 13th at 2pm.
It would seem that the beautiful weather and the extremely exciting games of late, coupled with Alan Corey and Mitt Carothers resurgence on the polo field has inspired the membership to ask for one more game.
And so it shall be! Please join us on Sunday for the last game of the season ( really this time, maybe definitely) at 2pm with usual beverage service, local hero’s to cheer on and fare provided by Dan Bullington and Holley Tractor.
See you all there!

An absolute game of two halfs!
Very rarely do two teams absolutely dominate the same game. In today’s November 4 Goal Invitational Final Buckleigh Farms and Indigo Inn battled it out in a thrilling game that sadly had to have only one winner.
Buckleigh Farms started the game in absolute control of the tempo and surged into a half-time lead of 7-2, playing a very patient controlled strategy before feeding the ball out to Matt McGhee who finished off three excellent runs of 200 yards or more. Peter Bibeau’s, Buckleigh Farms, were in complete control at the half as Gaston Rodrigues and Jose Rodriguez showed great communication and team work to keep Indigo Inn at bay while providing the offensive punch to build their substantial lead.
The second half was a completely different story however as from the first bowl in of the half Indigo Inn’s Brien Limehouse jumped on the ball to carry it down field to score. With Jeff Shuler playing a fantastic game in his first tournament and Will Tankard Captaining the team, the following three bowl in’s were like replay’s as Brien and Barry Limehouse won all of them to carry the ball down to the middle of the goal as team mates helped to score. By the end of the third period Indigo Inn had gained the lead and were winning by the score of 8-7. The Last period was wide open as both teams pushed hard for the win and it was Indigo Inn who were the eventual winners of a thrilling and exciting final tournament game at Whitney Field for a very successful 2012 season by the final score of 10-9.
MVP was awarded to Brien Limehouse, and his mare “Mamba” was BPP, for the stunning third period in which Brien scored 3 goals and set up 2 of his teams six for that period.
The only shame in today’s game was that only one team could win as both teams contributed to a thrilling match that was one of the most exciting games played on Whitney Field this year.

Duck Hill Farm won the TD Bank USPA Officers Cup 8 Goal this past Saturday, Nov 5th, by defeating a very determined Powder River team in the Final by a score of 9-8.
Powder River started the stronger of the two teams reaching the half with a two goal cushion. In the fourth period however John Gobin and BPP “Wisteria” scored 4 goals to take the lead and hang on to the end of the game. Powder River had multiple opportunities to tie the game up in the final 3 minutes of play, including an open goal penalty 3, but unfortunately failed to capitalize as Duck Hill quite literally hung on to win by the single goal.
Powder River’s Dennis Santana earned MVP honor’s for an all round very strong performance including scoring 3 goals from 120 yrds.
Best Playing Pony went to John Gobin’s “Wisteria” for their dominant fourth period that turned the game in their teams favor.

Karna/Botega Gratia was definitely the best team in this tournament. Winning the Final of the Cup of Aiken 8 Goal by the score of 10-9 in Overtime and finishing with an unblemished 4-0 record.
The teams win was achieved in dramatic style as they found themselves trailing by a goal in the final chukker with only a minute to play. A late foul gave the team a penalty 5 center field hit which was expertly controlled and finished from the tightest of angles by MVP Tomas Obregon to send the game into OT. Just 17 seconds into the OT chukker Karna/Botega Gratia was awarded a penalty 4 which Obregon comfortably slotted home for the win.
Craig Fraser’s 6th chukker horse, Lizzie, was awarded Best Playing Pony Honors.
